Cup of Heroes 2010

Rural community Hhoyi, in Mpumalanga, were crowned the winners of the Cup of Heroes 2010.

Suzan Mashele said, “The facility is something that will remind us of Cup of Heroes forever! We love sport and this will help us share it with the community.”

The team claim the title for the second year in a row, an incredible achievement in the Cup of Heroes competition.

This year, over 700 children and youth took part in sports activities and cultural performances based on the theme of “Celebrating Diversity: A single bracelet doesn’t jingle.”

The aim of the tournament is to bring children and youth together, and increase their awareness of and respect for other cultures and traditions. A highlight of this year’s competition was the 2010 Partner Country project, for which each team has been assigned a country they had to research and then present in a display of song, dance and drama.
